I purchased 2 - 380x boats. The boats have performed well and have been very durable through the 1st season. They are easily stored and transported. They do require more effort to setup and take down than a hard shell, but I think that is to be expected with any inflatable. I would not hesitate on buying another sea eagle product. I think they have a quality product and have been easy to deal with so far. The reason for a 4 out of 5 rating is the high cost of international shipping (Canada). I could almost have bought a 3rd boat for the cost of sending them 3hrs drive north of the border. Covid would not allow for me to pick them up in the US otherwise that would have been a good option. We purchased out 380X as a Christmas gift and have learned how to use it as a fishing boat in the accessible lake in our neighborhood. We now have a swivel fishing seat, new Skeg (original one was torn off on a launch), inflatable seat cushions from SeaEagle. Most fun has been our own DIY add-ons-- battery charger, light for evenings, rolling crate for fishing gear, homemade anchor, padded flooring, and a "dolly" for rough land travel. We transport the boat inflated on our little Jeep Patriot. We have spent hours on our lake and found the many spots for catfish, black and white bass, blue gill and crappie. Modular Rigid Drop Stitch Floor Provides Double Protection
The unique modular design of the Sea Eagle Explorer™ features a super rigid, high pressure, drop stitch floor that sits on top of an outside floor. This has several advantages. The high-pressure DS floor provides great rigidity and super responsive paddling performance. The reinforced outside fabric floor provides a double layer of added protection so it can bounce off rocks, logs, and other objects. The modular design allows the DS floor to be easily removed for quick and thorough cleaning.
Large Removable Rear Center Skeg
A nice feature of this design is that the skeg can be removed with the Explorer inflated or deflated. Simply remove it for whitewater and skinny water adventures (eliminating it as an obstruction)and replace it for flat water to reduce yawing (swinging to the right or left). This increases track-ability during long flat-water touring, maximizing efficiency. So far it is everything I expected and more. Easy to inflate with the optional electric pump. Portble enough to bring along in a storage area of my RV. I have used the kayak so far on lakes and rivers in Wisconsin. Very stable on the water even with larger waves from boats. Looking forward to using it throughout the United States when I start traveling more next year. Would definitley buy again. It is advertised as almost indestructable and so far I would have to agree
